Dual Review: Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost

Title: Bound by Flames
By: Jeaniene Frost
Series: Night Prince #3
My Copy: Ebook from Amazon
BookWhisperer Rating:

Play with fire, pay the price.

Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…
Now that Jeaniene Frost has made such a big name for herself it is always a wait for the next book to each beloved series. Now don't get me wrong every story is well worth the wait, but when I start her stories it always takes me a minute to align myself with my surroundings. Further proof that she is such a talented author, because she starts out each one reminding us of where the story stands without it feeling as though we are suffering through a big long recap. This series was such a long awaited series. After the relationship between Cat and Vlad it was such sweet joy to take this journey. Now I would deem it more sweet sorrow, because I discovered that the next book will be this couples last. Vlad always appeared to be several layers of hidden mystery, but I am enjoying the peeling of each and every layer. Although, Bound by Flames proved to be the most revealing into his character thus far. This is book three, and I just finally feel as though Leila is really glimpsing the depths of the man she fell in love with. More importantly this book definitely drops the back drop a couple times to allow us the whole view of Vlad's true character. I was excited to have some visitors, but I was surprised by the altercations. After such lastly relations with all of the various character combinations in these books I was taken by surprise to see Frost draw the lines in the sand. I am excited about the developments of the story, and it leaves me yet again anxious for more. 2016 is a long way away, and know that this story will play on instant replay for many months to come.

It’s like winning the lottery when Jeaniene releases a book in this series.  I thought that I couldn’t love a vampire more than I loved Bones in the original series but Vlad has gotten under my skin for his wonderful relationship with Cat and especially his love for Leila.

This book showed you just how much love Vlad had for Leila and his willingness to tear about the world if needed to keep her safe.  *Sigh*  And boy does he tear the world apart for her.

I loved the scenes when Leila would feel Vlad’s emotions when he let down his walls.  It was so beautiful to see that change in Vlad.  He had planned to never love again and then – boom – Leila walks in and we get this wonderful love story.

I can’t wait until the next book (oh no! the last book in the series) but 2016 is so far away.  I need to know what happens next because I predict that the is going to be filled with insane action.
