One more game. And this time, there are no rules…

After a life of pool hustling and living on the wrong side of the law, Ruby Elliott is living on the straight and narrow with sexy-as-all-hell NYPD detective, Troy Bennett. Now the only trouble Ruby has with the law is the naughty kind, pinned against the wall by Troy's strict and spectacularly hard body. Obeying his every command. Both of them losing themselves in a lust that borders on obsession...

But then her father returns with an offer she can’t refuse: one last hustle in exchange for information. Information she’d die to have. As the pieces and the players of the game reveal themselves, Troy feels the fine edges of his control slipping—control he can’t channel without hurting Ruby. The stakes are high, and the risk higher. Because losing this final game could cost more than Ruby’s heart…it might cost her life.

Oh, Troy is back and, if even possible, hotter than ever!

This book starts out sweet with Troy watching Ruby do what she does best, play pool.  However, Bailey doesn’t allow the sweetness to set in too long.  Straight after, Ruby finds out that her father is back in town and has a proposition for her.  This proposition is something that Ruby cannot pass up – even if Ruby has everything that she has ever wanted; a business, a safe life, and Troy.

I know that I have said this before but Tessa Bailey is one of my absolute favorite authors.  She always writes the best alpha males, strong women, and adds the most amazing plots to make the best books. It is fantastic how she can write two characters such as Troy and Ruby, develop them, and close their story but still be able to pick them back up and write a whole new story that had me so engrossed that I had this book finished within a few hours.

Everything that could happen happened in this book; love that waned and was restored, unlocked mysteries, revenge, and all these feelings that came out of me.  I would have to say that the feeling that had me the most wrapped up was the love between Troy and Ruby.  They would seriously do anything for each other because that is how beautiful their love is.

I am excited about the new series that Bailey introduced us to in this prequel.  I am super excited about learning more about Bowen, Ruby’s best friend, and the next main character.
