Review: Sudden Response by R.L. Mathewson

Title: Sudden Response

Book Whisperer's Rating:

Josephine (Joe for short) and Eric, the EMT crew of Echo 17 have been best friends since they were eight years old. They've been through a lot together over the years, but nothing like what they're about to experience.
As the only man in Joe's life it's Eric's job to be there for her and take care of her even while he drives her crazy, especially if he's driving her crazy. There's nothing he wouldn't do for her and when things go south he decides that maybe it's time that Joe moved on, but could he?

Mathewson knows how to write book that I just fall in love with.  The characters are always perfect.  They have the “goldilocks” temperature of the perfect bickering, fighting, drama, lust, love, and getting each other into trouble.  There is not too much of all of the above, it is just the right amount.

Both main characters were written perfectly to where it felt like I just lived among them and got the pleasure of seeing them interact with each other.  Eric and Joe were a fantastic duo together during work and as friends but were also strong character by themselves.  These are the characters that I love to read about.

Sudden Response was funny throughout the pages and held my attention until the very end.  It is an awesome, quick read that I suggest any Mathewson fan read immediately.
