Book Whisperer's Rating:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Holy crap!  This book is the kind of book where you start and you just cannot stop.  The characters are absolutely brilliant and they pull you into their lives.

For instances, I absolutely hated Drew with all of my being and loved him at the same time.  He was so cocky, rude, and just repulsive at some times but then, when you heard his intake on it, why he did what he did, why he acts like he acts, you couldn’t help but love him.  He was so horrid that at times I wanted to slap him but then he would do something wonderful and I wanted to kiss that almost slapped face.

Kate was the wonderful opposite of Drew and in meeting her, Kate turned his life around.  She was the kind of girl that I want to be: smart, level headed, kind, loving, and beautiful.  Drew is drawn to her because of her beauty at first, then once he finds out who she is, he gets to witness her brilliant mind at work.  With that kind of package (beauty and brilliance and the fact that he thinks she is stealing his job), Drew makes her his mortal enemy.  This leads to some wonderful quips and fights between the two.  But the moment when Drew realizes that Kate is more than what meets the eye is amazing!  The relationship that they start is something to marvel at and the moment when it crumbles, I just didn’t know what to do.  I kept yelling, “Fight for her Drew! Fight for her!”

Emma Chase is brilliant for being able to dig into a man’s psyche and write a love story based on his side.
