Zoë Merrick lived a less than ordinary life, until late one night, she was brutally attacked and left for dead.
A man named Adam spotted her running down the road covered in blood, and took her under his wing. Zoë didn't just survive that night - she underwent a physical transformation and acquired strange new abilities. Severed from her old life, her frustration grows as she tries to comprehend what's happening to her.
Serendipity leads her to Justus. He's handsome, arrogant, and not entirely human. Zoë learns the truth about what she is, and just how dangerous their world is for a young Mage. The only way she will understand her power is by putting her trust in this man, and accepting the protection he offers.
When her immortal freedom is threatened by the one man who has a right to claim her, Zoë learns the price of freedom...and the value of loyalty.

our thoughts finl

Dannika Dark has temporarily sated my seemingly insatiable desire for kick ass action, intensity, and romance. Our main character, Zoe, is a strong independent woman with a well loved crass witty charm. I loved her character from the start her personality is interesting and humorous keeping my interest throughout. When she finds herself unwilling turned in a Mage she is instantly entered into a crash course with reality. Trying to fumble her way through discovering a new life she will be taken on a journey that readers will never forget. As nothing seems to be in her control, and at every turn fate is dealing her a dirty hand. My sympathy followed her through the majority of this book, but after completion I reflected and realized that she may have been through hell, but all of the twists and turns also lead her to three wonderful men. Yes! I said three. Simon, Justus, and Adam are incredible characters as well. Each noticed and loved for their own individual qualities, and the support system that it appears is desperately needed. While each knows she may be a liable the loyalty they devote toward Zoe are exquisite. Although, I must admit to my bias nature that leaned me more toward one in particular. It was thrilling to see such an independent character with singular vision accept such monumental support from these men. It was also captivating to follow Zoe story and strength, but never the less these men all appear to be overly protective of her character. It allows the twist and turns in evident love triangles to seem plausible and incredibly entertaining.
Dark's story is intriguing, and a fresh twist in the paranormal genre. Mages are not something that we have heard often, so I was excited to take this book for a spin. After being easily absorbed by everything Sterling; I was thrilled when it absolutely soared to success. I am anxious to begin Twist right away, because I know that no other story will be able to hold my devotion as purely as I have experienced with Sterling.
