About the book:
Eleven minutes passed before Delaney Maxwell was pulled from the icy waters of a Maine lake by her best friend Decker Phillips. By then her heart had stopped beating. Her brain had stopped working. She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine
—despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she's far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can't control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?
Then Delaney meets Troy Varga, who recently emerged from a coma with similar abilities. At first she's reassured to find someone who understands the strangeness of her new existence, but Delaney soon discovers that Troy's motives aren't quite what she thought. Is their gift a miracle, a freak of nature-or something much more frightening?

What would you do if today was your last day? Delaney is just a girl with a normal life, normal friends, and normal parents. When tragedy strikes it is easy to over look with crystal lining of a miracle at work. Nobody could survive an accident that left them drowning in a frozen lake for eleven minutes, but somehow that is exactly what Delaney Maxwell did. After slipping into a coma for six days, she awakes almost completely unscathed. Although, the lasting reminders come in the form of an overprotective yet distant best friend and the occasional moments of a delusions that leave her feeling crazy. When the situations begin happening more frequently she finds that they are not symptom but a sign of an ability she never had before. Furthermore, she discovers that she is not the only one with this new ability. As she uncovers what these moments mean she soon finds they are far from a gift, and more like a curse. As things become more and more complicated the truth will surface that she is no longer the same girl, and how can she leave with this new talent without dragging everyone else down with her. Fracture was an incredibly moving story. Readers should be prepared this is not a journey for the faint of heart. The emotional baggage included with this story will have readers questioning their own lives, and purpose. This talented author will drag you into her story, and you will feel the story through Delaney. At the point of climax I was shocked to find myself feeling so incredibly hopeless and depressed. Then as the story begins to sort every detail I found myself spirits lifting. I was impressed by this author’s ability in this novel, and she will be a name to watch out for in the future.
