The past two years has blessed us with many new love stories that include angels. Unearthly is a great addition to all of these incredible angelic reads like The Fallen Series by Lauren Kate and Hush, Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. While Unearthly is not much of a suspenseful action packed novel; it expands and details Angels as something different than what have been portrayed in my other favorites. Cynthia Hand has created Angels has the greater workers of God. Her characters are on a mission from the Great Divine; this is the purpose of their entire existence. Clara is a wonderful character for the lead of this novel. As a rookie in the line of miracle working she is learning as the readers are setting ground work the storyline. Clara's mother is also an Angel, and her best mentor, but when Clara begins to find information that her mother is witholding tensions begin to grow. While things continue expanding through the finish of this story; I anticipate more suspense and Good vs Evil in the books to come. Fate has a plan for Clara, but Unearthly shows what happens when emotions and love deter that plan. More importantly what happens if things are not done just as she has seen them in her visions, and what will become of her if she can't see through with what fate has in store for her.
