Review: Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt

Two way Street was a quick little junt down lovers lane. Very fast paced which allows for a quick read. Barholdt's characters are much like todays younger generations; making it easier for the younger generation to relate. She created a story was was not very complex, and allowed to reader to lay back and enjoy the story unfolding. With a few twists this novel easily held my attention. Even though I would not rate this book on my favorite list, it was a very good read and worth the short time it required to read. Amazon Description This is Jordan and Courtney, totally in love. Sure, they were an unlikely high school couple. But they clicked; it worked. They're even going to the same college, and driving cross-country together for orientation. Then Jordan dumps Courtney -- for a girl he met on the Internet. It's too late to change plans, so the road trip is on. Courtney's heartbroken, but figures she can tough it out for a few days. La la la -- this is Courtney pretending not to care. But in a strange twist, Jordan cares. A lot. Turns out, he's got a secret or two that he's not telling Courtney. And it has everything to do with why they broke up, why they can't get back together, and how, in spite of it all, this couple is destined for each other.

Shadowland Release Date Bumped!

This is the new cover for Shadowland the third book in the Immortal series by Alyson Noel. I just came across new updated information that this will be released 11/24/2009, isn't that exciting?

Review: Blue Moon by Alyson Noel

Blue Moon is the second novel to Alyson Noel's Immortal Series. Ever is learning that life is a lot easier when you can read minds, manifest anything, and experience increased strength and speed at will. All this is easily attainable when you have had the same true love for the past 400 years; that just recently made you immortal. No longer fearing the jealous and slight crazy ex wife Drina; Ever is beginning to appreciate all that see has in her present life. Although, this all soon changes when Damen as well as the rest of the school starting acting strangely. Ever finds herself very alone, and making the right choice may mean life or death. With these odd we she be able to make the right choice. Blue Moon was far from diappointing, although, as a readers I still feel distance from the author to the characters. I feel as though I am the fly on the wall, not watching the story unfold through the characters eyes. Otherwise, the story line is excellent , providing a very entertaining read. I will definetly be waiting to read the third book Shadowland that is expected in Feburary 2010.

DAKOTA FANNING IN NEW MOON!!

I came across this poster today, and I just had to have it. I am so completely stoked that Dakota Fanning is in New Moon. She is one hell of an actress I don't think they could have picked a better actress. I love a movie just as much as a book, and occasionally I get to have my cake and eat it too; when a movie is made from a wonderful book. I can not wait for the movie release, and YES I AM ONE OF THOSE TWILIGHT FREAKS.

Review: Blood Promise by Richelle Mead

I just finished Blood Promise by Richelle Mead. WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! Newest addition to my all time favorites. At 503 pages, the longest book yet in the series, this book contained more than the standard action packed story. Mead takes the reader on a rollercoster of emotion as Rose begins the healing process of grieving her lover, leaving her best friend, and leaving life behind to keep promises made. Dimitri was a Guardian and teacher that was devoted to protecting others from strigoi; it was Rose's promise to kill him if ever awakened as a Strigoi. Blood Promise was a change in pace with Mead having to start all over with a new setting and all different characters. I love all the characters in the Vampire Academy Series, and look forward to seeing more of the new characters in the next book. After finishing the third book Shadow Kissed I was in a state of pure shock and despair; Blood Promise left me with a optimistic look for the next book. Please do not misunderstanding Mead offered the normal kick butt and action packed book that we are used to, but I also felt that the author has exceled offering the reader so much more than a great story. So here is to waiting for the Spirit Bound in May 2010.

Blood Promise Description from Richelle Meads Website:

Rose Hathaway's life will never be the same. The recent attack on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A rare tattoo now adorns Rose's neck, a mark that says she's killed far too many Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters . . . Dimitri Belikov. Rose must now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved? Now, with everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir's and her unguarded, vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice herself for a chance at eternal love?

Review: Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Jeaniene Frost has done it again. The Night Huntress series has to be one of the best series out at the moment. I anxiously await every book, and it seems each book is better than the last. I am nervous about the spin off to Spade and Denise, but if it progresses with the power of the previous Cat and Bones books we are in for another awesome treat. Frost seems to never disappoint and continually writes page turners that keep the readers craving more. In Destined for an Early Grave Cat and Bones are trying to settle into life without the dramatics that came with Cat's previous job. Although, they find theirselves in a world of trouble when a blond headed vampire named Gregor or the Dreamcatcher begins haunting Cat dreams; with promises to take Cat away from the life she knows. Gregor begins claiming Cat was previously binded to him, and therefore his wife. With the help of many of their friends we have met along the way Bones will go to all ends to keep Cat safe, but the problem may become keeping her safe from herself.

Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Just finished Maggie Stiefvater's new novel Shiver. Excellent story without the standard conceptions of Werewolves. Maggie created a new and unique world for her book unlike any I have read; the basics without the glamor and glitz. The pace of the story was consistent and the story was simple and easy; leaving the reader with a experience that was plain and innocent but packed full of emotion and feeling. This was my first read of Stiefvaters work and I am impressed with the outcome of this book. I look forward to seeing work from her in the future. Below is the authors description from her webpage:
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Recieved my Rachel Vincent newsletter yesterday with a picture of the brand new cover for the fifth book in the Shifters series. Shift will be released in March 1st 2010, and will be anxiously awaited like every other.
Below is Vincent description of the new book from her newsletter:

And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe. With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. Review: A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell

Lisa Ann Sandell allows her readers to experience life through the eyes of a young artist in her new release A Map of the Known World. Fourteen year old Cora recently lost her brother to a tragic car accident. She is not only getting ready to start high school, but she is about to embark into her brother past territory. While Nathan Bradley was disliked by many he had a best friend of which was also in the car the night of Nate accident. Cora's family find comfort in partially blaming Damian for the death of their son/brother due to is attendance at the time of the accident. Cora soon finds that world is not what it seems and when she looks deeper neither is the young Damian that may be hurting just as much as Cora and her family.
This book was very inspiring and uplifiting. Sandell created a story about loss and misunderstanding. She shows a family that has begun to self destruct after the loss of their son, and result is the suffering and neglect of the existing child. Sandell shows the reader tragedy and loss, and how to start over.

New Preview for New Moon

I absolutely can not wait for this movie... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-HROwuhNMA&feature=player_embedded

Review: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey

Beth Fantaskey created an awesome new story for young adult readers. This was my first introduction in the Fantaskey's work and I can tell you I am SOLD. I read many comments about whether or not this could be a challenger for the world famous twilight books, and I would have to say that I totally agree. Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is a close competitor of the infamous Twilight Series. This is one book that everyone is looking for a second, although, at this time their is no plans for a second to this awesome book. So savor every second of this awesome book, but it does not last.
Book Description
The undead can really screw up your senior year . . . Marrying a vampire definitely doesn't fit into Jessica Packwood's senior year "get-a-life" plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he's her long-lost fiancé. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire's Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius's soul from eternal destruction

Review: The Last Bridge by Teri Coyne

This book was fantastic! It has been a very long time since I have read a book this good. The simple innocence and realty of this book make it a pleasure to read. The story is one that will follow you long after the last page.
The Rucker children did not learn to exist with their father; they learned to survive their father. Now Alex Rucker is faced with the suicide of her mother, and the coma that her father has been in for years. After her absence of nine years she is being beckoned back to her home town of Wilton. Although, Alex returns to find more than what she had left awaiting her, and she may not be able to run any longer.
I recieved a message on my Librarything accoun today, this author Teri Coyne is going to be available for chat on Librarything through the 21st of this month.
