Review: Wicked Ride by Rebecca Zanetti

Title: Wicked Ride
By: Rebecca Zanetti
Series: Realm Enforcers #2
My Copy: Netgalley
The BookWhisperer's Rating:

Daire Dunne is more than ready to take a quick break from his duties as a Coven Nine Enforcer. When he spots a sexy blonde across a Titan’s of Fire party, it’s not long before she’s on the back of his Harley on the fast track to his apartment. Unfortunately, one overheated kiss in, the woman drugs Daire and steals valuable files that can’t fall into enemy hands. The second he comes to, the hunt is on...

Now that Cee Cee has the information to take down an enemy that destroyed her family, she can implement her perfect plan for revenge. Nothing will stop her, not even a shockingly sexy enforcer barging into her life. Not even the spectacular, fire-branding sex engulfing them. But if Daire ever figures out who her family really is, all bets are off...

The first book in this series was good but it wasn’t what I was expecting.  I loved RZ Sin Brothers series, it is where I first fell in love with her writing and characters, and found myself yearning for that kind of drama, romance, action, protectiveness, and paranormal plots and I so got it in Wicked Edge.

I felt like the relationship between Daire and Cee Cee was more explosive than Kellach and Alexandria. The plot line was more dynamic and solid in this book.  These two characters had an instant attraction when they locked eyes across the club and it held steady until Cee Cee drugged Daire for some information.  Intense attraction still lingered but also this slight sliver of anger lurked in the background. This whole aspect brought some great drama to their budding relationship. They constantly fought with each other and it made them the perfect couple in my eyes. The couples that love and hate each other in the same breath is one of my weaknesses when it is done right – and RZ did it right!

So if I haven’t enticed you with this teaser of a hot relationship, maybe the pure brilliance of the paranormal plot will.  All sorts of action are wrapped up in these pages.  If there isn’t a fight happening between Daire and Cee Cee to get the upper hand then it is a fight against makers of planekite and sworn enemies.  The writing describes each scene wonderfully so you can just picture our beloved Cee Cee and Daire kicking some butt and taking names.

A lot more goes down in the book.  We get some answers and we also come across new doors that open more questions.  I feel like this is going to be a great series for anyone who enjoys fighting for justice, out of this realm characters, and a little side of love (okay, a lot side of love.)
