The BookWhisperers Rating:
Running off
to Amsterdam is the best decision Ella ever made in her life. In just a few
months, she’s been able to put her past behind and has found a new family and
friends. She can almost ignore the voices in her head telling her this idyllic
scenario is temporary.
When Lou
Rivers shows up in Amsterdam, he’s the constant reminder of the life she led
and the mistakes she made. As the two of them embark on an emotional and
musical journey across Europe, Ella will have to face her own insecurities and
make a decision that might break them apart forever.
This book was graciously given to us by none other than Ms.
Alexander herself and I am so glad that she took a chance on us and let us have
a copy. This book was just beautiful all
the way around. It starts off with Ella
on the sidewalk singing when Lou is stopped by her voice and from there starts
the tornado of feelings. Ella and Lou
meet, they grow to know each other, feelings start to bloom, and then life
butts its head in the way.
What impressed me about this book were all the characters. Not only did I fall in love with Ella and Lou
but also Ally and the family that Ella works for when she moved to
Amsterdam. Heck, even the community was
adorable. They all wormed their way into my heart (especially Lou…man, he is
the best woo-er!)
Lou and Ella are so perfect for each other - as a couple and as
a two-person band. You know just know
from the start that they are made for each other but with Lou’s career and Ella
still trying to find herself, it makes it hard for them to be together. This Love was all about watching how these
characters grow into themselves and with each other. It was beautiful to see all of this to take
place within these pages.
This was my first book by Alexander and I am excited to read
what else she has in store.
