Have you ever gone just a little too far?
Lexie Banks has.
Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.
But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

our thoughts OMG!!! First lets talk about the worst luck in the world. Who would want to be this girl that it seems the only men that want to cherish her are all of the forbidden men of her life. REALLY!! If you boyfriend proves to be a “douche” it is not normally a person first instinct to fall into your step brothers arms. More importantly, something must be wrong with me because I loved every fricking minute of her falling into her step brothers arms. As if that wasn’t enough, let’s through her over to Rome, and give her another absolutely forbidden man and let her fall for a soon-to-be priest. As if I wasn’t completely sure that there was something already wrong with me; lets observe how incredibly hot and intense that was, and how it made me are warm and giggly. I swear no author could pull this off. There is pushing the lines, and then there is Going Too Far. ( In light of the series name) This went Too Far, and it was absolutely wonderful. Long after the last page readers will be wracking their brains trying to figure out how this even happened, and more importantly how it can continue. It is not a innocent love story, and this is just the start of some hard relationships. I must admit that I was so upset, because I was truly equally in love with the male characters. My heart tore into piece for Alessandra, and I am actually very excited for book two. Desrochers will test your judgment and acceptance in this lustfully sinful novel. Not for the faint hearted please be prepared for the intensity that accompanies this story. You will notice the four star rating of this book, and I want to take just a minute to point out the reason. Even though I was mesmerized by this story, and overcome by the confusion that it instills, I was disappoint slightly at the ending. After something so seemingly impossible once the indecision was overcome the story lost a bit of momentum. There was no friction that was expected with the declaration of this relationship. The family accepts this with open arms almost immediately. After a story so powerful, and emotion ridden it seemed to me a bit of a let down. Although, this is easily overlooked when reflecting on the story, so I still left it with a very high four rating but wanted to honestly point out this one minor detail that caused me pause in the story.
