Title: If I Stay
By: Courtney Cole
My Copy: Ebook for Tour
BookWhisperer Rating:
24-year old Pax Tate is an asshole.
Seriously.
He’s a tattooed, rock-hard bad-boy with a bad attitude to match.
But he’s got his reasons.
His mother died when Pax was seven, leaving a hole in his heart filled with guilt although he doesn’t understand why. What he does know is that he and his dad are left alone and with more issues than they can count.
As Pax grew up, he tried to be the kid his father always wanted; the perfect golden boy, but it didn’t work. His dad couldn’t overcome his grief long enough to notice and Pax couldn’t keep up the impossible perfect façade.
So he slipped far, far from it. Now, he uses drugs and women to cope with the ugliness, the black void that he doesn’t want to deal with. If he pretends that the emptiness isn’t there, then it isn’t, right?
Wrong.
And it’s never more apparent than when he meets Mila.
Sweet, beautiful Mila Hill is the fresh air to his hardened frown, the beauty to his ugly heart. He doesn’t know how to not hurt her, but he quickly realizes that he’s got to figure it out because he needs her to breathe.
When memories of his mother’s death resurface from where he’s repressed them for so long, Mila is there to catch him when the guilt starts making sense. Mila is the one…the one who can save him from his broken troubled heart; from his issues, from the emptiness.
But only if he can stop being an asshole long enough to allow it.
He knows that. And he’s working on it.
But is that enough to make her stay?

Top Five Fave Book Couples and Why........
Top Five Fave Book Couples and Why........
Oh, my. This is hard. Okay...I'll try. I've loved so many characters throughout the years that it's hard to name only five.
The couple is such a vital part of any book- as a unit, it will make or break any story. So, in order to love the couple, you've got to love both parts. For instance, Edward and Bella aren't on my list because I'm not the biggest Bella fan. Which is weird because I really do like the Twilight books.
*eats chocolate and takes sip of wine as I think*
Okay. I'm ready....
1. My favorite romance novel is Saving Grace by Julie Garwood, so I would have to name Johanna and Gabriel McBain. I love wittiness in books and Julie Garwood is a master.
2. Rose and Dimitri from The Vampire Academies. I love, love Dimitri. He's so sexy. I love alpha males who are trained in deadly hand-to-hand combat. *swoons*
3. Jasper and Alice from Twilight. Just because.... how can you not? Alice is adorable and Jasper's got that whole southern gentleman vampire thing going on. Oh, and they're both deadly. Bonus!
4. Jules and Nate from Fight with Me by Kristen Proby. Because Nate is hot. And he's pierced. Yeah...there.
5. Camryn and Andrew from Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski. Andrew is so... hot, in a mature beyond his years and tattooed kind of way.
So, there you have it. My top five fave fictional couples. Wow, that was hard. *takes another drink of wine to recover*
