Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf's assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.
Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form...
Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that's been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years.

About the Book:
With a rocky past, Jessie starts a new school in hopes for a better start in life; a football scholarship to college. He joins the football team and impresses his coach but not the present quarterback Forbes Henderson. With his supreme talent, the coach replaces Forbes with Jessie as the quarterback. And just because, Jessie decides to get under Forbes’ skin a little more by trying to steal his girl, Claire. At first, it is all a game to Jessie. Flirt with her, win her over, and show Forbes that this meant nothing to him but then Claire starts to mean something to Jessie.
Claire is the average high school student in most ways. She is dating Forbes and knows that she should be happy with how her life is going, but she is not. When Jessie waltzes into her life, she is shocked because he intrigues her.
Both Jessie and Claire try to win the other over just to prove a point, but while trying, they fall for each other and become a couple. But is Jessie’s past too much for Claire to handle if he truly lets her in?
In all honestly, Going Under took me a little while to get into. Within the first 5 chapters, I was on board and needing to know what happened next. I love the characters Jessie and Claire for so many reasons. Jessie is someone who gets label as a “bad boy,” someone from the wrong side of the tracks. What most of East Franklin High School doesn’t know is that he is trying to live a better life. It may not always happen, but he is at least trying. You just want to root for him to succeed.
Claire was a great character because I felt like she was really real. When the relationship between her and Jessie becomes strained, she knows who he really is in her heart and is willing to fight for him. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

About the Book:
Lily Darlington's been called crazy in her day-and, yeah, driving her car into her ex-husband's living room probably wasn't the smartest move ever made-but the louse deserved it. Now Lily is happily single, and she's turned it all around. She knows she's a good mom, a homeowner, and a businesswoman, all wrapped up in one good-looking package.
A package that police officer Tucker Matthews is dying to unwrap. This ex-military man sure doesn't need another woman in his life. His last girlfriend left him with nothing but memories and a cat named Pinky! But living next door to Lily has been driving him nuts. He dreams about her long blonde hair and even longer legs. And maybe it's time to go a little crazy . . . and fall in love.
“Crazy on You” was a very quick and hot read. I finished it within a few hours. Tucker Matthews is a new police officer in a small town in Texas and is Lily Darlington’s new neighbor. One has a crazy past while the other has a dark past and neither wants to share. But the chemistry between them is iron hot and it brings them together, plus it sucks the reader into their lives.

About the Book:
Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, she knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.
But her revival, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.
I got into “Unraveling” within the first few pages. If it wasn’t for work and life, I could have finished it within a half of a day. Janelle (J-baby as her dad calls her) is a strong character in this book and fights to find the truth but it might be more than she can handle. She has a best friend (Alex) who has her back 99% of the time, a mentally ill mother, a FBI-workaholic father, and a younger brother who she has protected. “Unraveling” made me want to risk getting car sick on my way to the conference because I wanted to finish it so badly but I knew getting sick would not make a good impression on my new co-workers. I hope you readers check it out and like it as much as I did.

About the Book:
Who's the sexy blonde stranger sleeping in Simon Holcroft's bed? The workaholic returns from a business trip to find someone stretched out on his sheets. Between the laundry basket at her side and the smell of orange cleaner, he deduces that the young woman is his maid-and resists the urge to kiss her awake.
But when his brother's fiancé-his own ex-bursts in and strips down to her panties, Simon has to get her dressed and back where she belongs. So he introduces the maid as his fiancée. But his little white lie gets bigger, because now he has to bring his supposed bride-to-be to meet the whole family. One offer-she-can't-refuse later, Simon has bought himself a temporary fiancée.
In debt up to her eyeballs and all alone for the holidays, how could struggling grad student Caroline Sampson not accept her gorgeous client's fantasy proposal? But acting like she's in love comes more easily than she ever expected.
His Secret Temptation is a lighting fast read that packs a punch. The emotion throughout this sweet romance will bounce of the pages. It is interesting to watch Fate’s crafty design in pulling these two people together. The hoax of a maid finding herself in an elaborate plan pretending to be a millionaire fiancé. Although, deception offers a negative twist to the story; it is an honorable decision when paired with the talon hooks is brothers finance is trying to stick in him. I was more than willing to encourage and root for the liars when it pushed the money grubby wench out of the picture. It is a perfect happy ending that offers a abandoned girl the Man and Family that could offer her everything her heart desires. This was an awesome story, and readers will zip right through it.

About the Book:
Amelia—still caught between life and death—must fight for every moment of her relationship with the human boy Joshua. They can hardly even kiss without Amelia accidentally dematerializing. Looking for answers, they go to visit some of Joshua’s Seer relatives in New Orleans. But even in a city so famously steeped in the supernatural, Amelia ends up with more questions than answers…and becomes increasingly convinced that she and Joshua can never have a future together.Wandering through the French Quarter, Amelia meets other in-between ghosts, and begins to seriously consider joining them. And then she meets Gabrielle. Somehow, against impossible odds, Gaby has found a way to live a sort of half-life...a half-life for which Amelia would pay any price. Torn between two worlds, Amelia must choose carefully, before the evil spirits of the netherworld choose for her.
Hereafter was a thrill ride from start to finish. I have been raving about it while anxiously anticipating the second book's release. Well, IT'S HERE! Arise was very thing that I had expected, and after running through it full speed I am in waiting again. Arise picks up shortly after the conclusion of book one. Amelia and Jason had finally found their comfort, or at least as comfortable as a couple can be when one of them happen to be dead. Although, as with all awesome reads their comfort is short lived when Amelia finds everything is not what it seemed. Just when they believe that the danger is no longer lurking; we discover no only are they lurking but they may have just gotten a little smarter. After they witnessed the display from the end of book one; it seems that Amelia is of more interest than was previously considered. With the dark ones building a plan against her, and her desires to keep everyone she loves safe the game plans slightly shift. As if her life wasn't complicated enough she also finds herself on the receiving end of a voodoo ritual that will change everything she has come to know and learn about her afterlife. It seems as though Amelia is destined to sink or swim through her afterlife. Throughout all of this turmoil, it appears the one thing Amelia needs to realize is knowing who to trust. While trying to protect her loved ones she may just miss the answers that lay right in front of her. Arise has left most everything in a heaping mess, and readers will be desperate for answers. So, if you need me I will be here waiting for the next one. BookWhisperer Recommended Series

About the Book:
Makenna Wilhelm knows all of her friends have their quirks, but when Ty shows up naked in her yard one morning, she finds it beyond weird. Stranger still are the deep gashes across Ty’s chest and his sudden ability to hear and smell things that no human should.
During a moonlit night, Ty’s secret is revealed. He’s no longer the boy she’s crushed on forever, but rather a werewolf with one serious aversion for all things silver. Makenna is left wondering if he’s to blame for the recent death of one of their classmates, the apparent victim of an animal attack.
With the help of Melanie, the dead girl’s friend, they manage to shed doubt on Ty’s guilt only to discover Makenna was the intended prey. Even worse, she’s still a target.
In a race against the full moon, the trio struggles to find who murdered the young woman. However, without a way to cure Ty, they have no way of knowing who poses the greater threat: Ty or the unknown enemy.
Makenna and Ty have been friends for as long as they can remember. This is the pure and honesty friendship where no matter what that one person will come to your rescue. Although, as young adult the lines have become slight obscure. When the two began dating it caused some rifts in the waves; although, when it really matters their bond is still impenetrable. When a girl is found mulled and murdered on the school property is sends a shock wave through the community. Especially in Mackenna, as she begins to remove the rose colored glass everything is not what it seems. The life of popularity was nice when she was oblivious to what it was actually costing her. More importantly, when she begins to notice changes in Ty she will stop at nothing to uncover his secrets. What she uncovers may be more secrets than she was ready to handle. Ty is a werewolf with no recollection of how he become so. With the mauling fresh in everyone mind they soon find themselves racing against time to find a cure or at least a means to control the change. A unlikely ally comes to the rescue, but what may appear as friendship could be under-minded dedication. Watching Mac mature through this novel was tremendously powerful. She becomes a person willing to stand up for good no matter what the cost. It was unfortunate to see the conclusion leaving her so alone and desperate, but I am anxious to where book two will take us. By the Pale Moonlight is a suspenseful and enticing read that will keep your attention through the final page. BookWhisperer Recommended Series.

Series: A Jessica McClain Novel Book 1

Publisher: Orbit (April 11th, 2012)
My Copy: Advanced Reading Copy from NetGalley
BookWhisperer Rating:
About the Book:
Jessica McClain was born the only female in an all male race. The only problem is-she's no wolf. Called a curse, a witch and the Daughter of Evil by the superstitious wolves, Jessica decides to fight for her freedom, at age nineteen, the only way she can-in the ring.
When she's brutally attacked right after her fight, is it enough to finally earn her freedom off Compound, or will she be forced to endure the hatred even longer . . .
This was one hell of a start for this new series. Amanda Carlson’s debut of the Jessica McClain series promises action packed novels with a kick ass heroine. After reading this and the added excerpt for Full Blooded this was more a prequel. A short story laying the ground work before taking the story to new heights. Jessica is a freak of nature, the only female werewolf, prophesized as the Daughter of Evil that will one day be the werewolves downfall. Also the daughter of the Alpha, she has been protected the best she could for years, but as of late the attempts are escalating. Unable to shift, and not truly one of them leaves her in a very dangerous position. Jessica knows what this means for her future, and she is determined to live. To survive she must find a way out. With her death on the horizon daily she must convince her father that she must leave and start anew. Unfortunately, with the Alpha for a Father convincing him is proving hard than anticipated, and her time is running out. I love stories with strong and independent woman in the lead. Jessica McClain promises just that with her spunky and witty attitude. This was a very short story of about forty pages; which was not near enough to sate my appetite for the promised story. . I can not wait to read Full Blooded in September, and get a real taste of what this series is going to offer.

About the Book:
IT’S NOT EVERY DAY YOU LEARN YOU HAVE A NINE-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER
Boston Kincaid’s life is forever changed when he reads the note from Cassidy Trenton, who’s looking for her daddy. Vividly remembering the girl’s mother, Boston is compelled to learn the truth about Cassidy’s paternity.
Single working mother Ellie Trenton is completely bowled over to find her old college flame, whom she hasn’t seen in ten years, loitering on her front porch when she comes home from work one day.
At the sight of each other, Boston and Ellie’s decade apart melts away, and that old chemistry between them flares back to life. But trust doesn’t come easily, and old wounds never healed properly.
Can Boston and Ellie learn to forgive and forget so they can experience the love they never shared, or will child custody battles keep them apart forever?
Deliquent Daddy was so much more than I had anticipated. I expected this to be a love story, but I never expected it to carry the level of emotion baggage that it did. This is not your hot and steamy romance; this is a love story and the miraculous existence of second chances. Boston and Ellie were made for one another. Everything about them perfectly fits with the other, but life is brutal and fate is tricky, so when they parted ways in college life moved one without them. When all of a sudden nine years later a young girl with a yearning to know her Daddy does the unthinkable and reaches out for a man she is not even sure exists. What comes together in this novel is bitter sweet and honest. Having to learn to forgive is the basis to this story, and the outcome is wonderfully perfect. I was little uncertain, because the slower pace that began this book. No sooner than I had this thought the story cranked up the suspense and rushed through the remainder of the pages. I loved every minute of it, and can’t wait to look into more for this author.

About this Book:
Six years ago, Alexis Baptiste's world was turned upside down when Hunter Cassidy disappeared without a trace, leaving her alone and pregnant. She's finally moving on with her life when he resurfaces, just in time to rescue her from a would-be assassin. Forced to join him on the run to protect herself and her young son, Alexis is now in even more danger: danger of falling for Hunter all over again.
Betrayed by rogue CIA agents after infiltrating an infamous drug cartel, former DEA agent Hunter Cassidy has spent years trying to clear his name. He's not proud of the things he's done, and knows he doesn't deserve a future with Alexis, or the son he never knew he had, but he's determined to protect them from the men who ruined his life. Convincing Alexis to trust him—and denying his feelings for her—is going to be the hardest mission he's ever faced. From amazon.com
I’m not going to lie to you, I solely picked this book based on the cover of a sexy, half shirtless man and I am glad I did. I enjoyed reading this book and getting to ride the rollercoaster of suspense and the love that the characters presented. Hunter knows that there are corrupt agents after him and have targeted Alexis and he goes to keep her safe, only to find out that he has a six years old son Jonathan. Now that he knows Jonathan exists, he is making every effort that nothing can harm them. But while doing so, he starts to run into some “bumps” with Alexis. She is engaged and set on not letting Hunter back into her life until she realizes how much danger is set upon them. While on the run, feelings start to boil up for both Hunter and Alexis, which makes staying out of danger a little harder.
I am excited to read more of Reus’s books and I do recommend “His Secret Past.” ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

About the Book:
Katie McCabe's life is going nowhere fast when FBI Special Agent Lucas Vasco jumps into her car at an intersection. Luc, his undercover guise blown, is on the run from the Mafia and expects to be killed at any moment. What he doesn't plan on is finding himself attracted to the firecracker beside him. He feels compelled to protect her when her life is threatened, and insists she stay with him for her own safety.
After learning she has become the target of a psychotic hit man, Katie is whisked off to Luc's house to hide. Once there, she's shocked to discover that she and Luc have an unexpected connection--a connection Luc already knew existed, but withheld. Will their intense attraction reach flashpoint despite their misunderstandings and the pain of the past?
“Hold Me” kept me reading way past my bedtime because I just wanted to see how Luc and Katie’s relationship would end up. Would they kiss? Would a relationship be made because of their mutual attraction towards each other? Luc knows that it can’t happen because it is his job to protect her since he got her into this mess in the first place. But (*secret time*) Katie and Luc do get closer together and a bond is made. However, Betsy Horvath throws in some side punches in to make these characters fight for the truth, protection, and love.
I enjoyed reading “Hold Me” and would suggest it for anyone who is willing and wanting to read book with a fiery red-head and a sexy FBI agent.

About the Book:
Suddenly, “resistance is futile” has a whole new meaning. Lusting after the wrong woman can be pure torture, especially when the sexy siren falls into the do-not-touch-ever category. The smart move is to resist, unless the heart has other plans… Ready or NotWhen Brianna agreed to fill in as the stripper at a bachelor party, she didn’t expect to see the man she’s wanted for years. Suddenly, baring all isn’t such a hot idea. Quinn is certain Brianna’s the last person he should be lusting after. But lust he does—with a vengeance. Batteries Not RequiredIn Dana’s experience, boring sex and long-term relationships go hand-in-hand. She’s on a mission to find bedroom excitement and she knows just the man to give it to her. Dana’s proposal to have a fling is right up Reese’s alley. But once Reese has Dana in his arms, he decides to tempt her into turning their fling into something more. Brazen or BustDetermined to make Logan see her as more than his honorary kid sister, Nica undergoes a sexy makeover and adopts a feisty new attitude. Logan’s not sure what happened to the tomboy he’s known for years, but this brazen sex kitten is an enticing treat he shouldn’t touch… Warning: This book contains seductive stripping, a teensy bit of handcuff play, the inappropriate use of furniture, feisty women determined to seduce and sexy hunks bowled over by temptation. All of which leads to some smokin’ hot graphic sex
This compilation of short stories previews Anara Bella’s talent for writing intoxicating love stories. Each story carries it own storyline, but they all have similarities that will characterize this talented author’s style. I found Brazen or Bust and Batteries Not Required to be exceptional reads. They were amazing characters, and explosive romance that left you craving more. Ready or Not was a very entertaining read, but it seemed to be lacking some of the pizzazz that the two stories offered. While each of these stories are sweet and loving; they are also dirty and hot. Readers will experience a rollercoaster of emotion as they fly through these incredibly short stories.

Everything changes when Amber saves a werewolf from the mere brink of death, Blake, the only werewolf to ever protect her. Love blossoms, but not without tribulations when Amber realizes she must help her new pack rescue a member who is being held hostage by a rival pack.
Warring with emotions of going from lone wolf to the pack leader’s mate, Amber must decide if she is willing to risk Blake’s life to know true family and friendship despite the fact that the Council is hell bent on locating her and will stop at nothing until she is found. Will Amber’s special abilities be enough to keep everyone safe?
Amber is a powerful and independent woman. Readers will crave her courage and envy her romance. I absolutely loved this story it is powerful, intense, and heart melting. Amber has learned to accept what it means to be alone. With absolutely no one to lean on she has learned to be self reliant. For years, she has been running from the same group of men. They will stop at nothing to find her, and she refuses to take that road. When she stumbles across a car wreck her life is about to change drastically. Amber and Blake of a powerful history, and the reuniting of these two is an amazing and thrilling experience. I felt slightly overwhelmed by the amount of sex in this book, but it was effortlessly wrapped into this incredible read. I can not wait to continue the series.
