About the book:
We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten...
Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.
But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.
Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences.
This is a novel about love and sacrifice, and what it truly means to be selfless. It is interesting that this young girl has been experiencing this gift for most of her life, but she has no idea what her talent truly is. The story start with her as a young adult, and this happens to be the point in her life when “the Need” is beginning to increase. With every occasion it seems that Charlotte’s web of lies is growing deeper and deeper for her to cover of this seemingly horrible truth. While for the world she may be a savior; this young girl is giving up everything she loves to continue bringing light to the world. It is a very heartfelt story that will pull at readers heartstrings and sympathy. There is almost a spiritual feel throughout this story; especially with the consistent battle Good vs Evil readers will question their own character. Young wraps up the story with a very intense and emotional ending. Although, lacking the huge show down I anticipated I believe that this author took a more personal ending that fits the story nicely. The last paragraph of the book is what I would describe a short epilogue, and it carries promise for a sequel to come. A Need so Beautiful is a very easy and effortless read that will have readers question their own character. This story is well worth the time spent reading it.
