About the book:

Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to.

Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past—the mystery of the Shift.

As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart.

review plate The Shade Series is a new and excitement story line for Young Readers. Aura lives in a world post Shift, meaning that everyone born after the Shift is able to see the ghosts surrounding them everyday. When Aura’s first love Logan died in the Shade; she found herself savoring the ability she has dreading for many years. At first to a post shifter death seems irrelevant, but as time passed Aura comes to discover that Logan was not meant to live forever as a ghost. It is not fair to herself or him to hold in the state of limbo. To truly find peace he needs to cross over. Aura is not only post shift, but after meeting a luscious Zachary she finds that she is very special. Being the first born after the shift she has very special talents, and attracts some very unwanted attention from the DMP’s. Zachary is quite special too, being the last born prior to the shift; which his ability to repel ghosts. As Zachary and Aura try to discover what these special gifts truly mean; they will be followed, hunted, and kidnapped. Readers will have to continue to see if this story can truly have a happy ending.

Jeri Smith-Ready always offers suspenseful romantic ride that readers will devour. I am always anxiously awaiting the next books, and wondering just how she will manipulate and twist the story next. Shift was an excellent addition to Shade, and I believe that readers will be truly satisfied with this sequel. The Shade series is a new and unique storyline that will captivate the paranormal lovers. In a genre so large readers find many books carry similarities to others. Shade will break the mold creating a new and intoxicating additions to the genre.
